The U.S. Embassy in Dhaka has concluded a specialized training program aimed at equipping young Bangladeshis with negotiation, communication, and leadership skills, preparing them for future professional and leadership roles.
U.S. Ambassador Brent T. Christensen attended the closing ceremony of the four-day program, titled “The Art of the Deal: American Excellence in Negotiation Skills,” held at a hotel in Gulshan on Saturday.
The initiative brought together 60 alumni of the Access English Program from Dhaka, Chattogram, and Sylhet. Participants received hands-on training in negotiation strategies, leadership development, effective communication, and problem-solving techniques.
The program was supported by U.S. English Language Specialist Joanne Munisteri and incorporated principles from former U.S. President Donald Trump’s book The Art of the Deal, alongside broader American approaches to negotiation and leadership.
Speaking at the closing ceremony, Ambassador Christensen praised the participants and emphasized the importance of strong communication and negotiation skills in addressing challenges and creating opportunities in an increasingly interconnected world.
According to the U.S. Embassy, the training aimed to help participants develop confidence, critical thinking abilities, and practical leadership skills that can contribute to their academic, professional, and community engagement efforts.
The Access English Program, supported by the U.S. government, has long focused on empowering young people through English language education and leadership development. Embassy officials said the latest initiative reflects the United States’ continued commitment to investing in Bangladesh’s next generation of leaders and fostering people-to-people ties between the two countries.
