SS Report
Dhaka, 15 October 2025:
The Takammol Project, implemented under the Bureau of Manpower, Employment and Training (BMET) of the Ministry of Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment, has emerged as a landmark initiative in developing skilled human resources in Bangladesh.
According to the project’s progress report released today, over 50,000 individuals have successfully completed training under the programme. Among them, 40,000 trainees have passed international-standard assessments and received certification, marking a major stride in the country’s skills development and overseas employment efforts.
The core objective of the Takammol Project is to equip outbound migrant workers with modern, internationally-recognised training in various sectors. The programme covers technical and vocational skills, language training, occupational safety, workplace ethics, and pre-departure orientation — all tailored to meet the demands of global labour markets.
Looking ahead, the project aims to scale up significantly, targeting over 100,000 trainees in the coming year. To expand its reach, plans are underway to establish e-learning centres, enabling youth in remote areas to access online training modules, especially those unable to join in-person sessions.
The successful implementation of the Takammol Project has contributed to increased overseas employment, improved worker income, and a rise in remittance inflow. Moreover, it has strengthened Bangladesh’s positioning in the international labour market by promoting a more skilled and competitive workforce.
