Civil society members emphasized on creating an independent commission under the patronage of the government and complete execution procedure of the absconders living abroad.
They proposed that the commission will be formed with retired judges, senior advocates, senior journalists and with people who actively participated in the liberation war.
In commemoration of the Month of Mourning and 47th martyrdom anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and his family members, Bangladesh Institute of Law and International Affairs (BILIA) and Bangla Worldwide have jointly organized a round table discussion titled, “The Killing of Bangabandhu: The Conspirators, the Executors and the Ultimate Justice” on 27 August. Eminent personnel of the society were present in the roundtable and expressed their thoughts on Bangabandhu Killing and how absconders can be brought to justice.
In this roundtable discussion, among the others, author of the Proclamation of Independence Barrister M. Amir -Ul- Islam, Professor Dr. Mizanur Rahman, Barrister Tania Amir, Justice A.H.M Shamsuddin Chowdhury, Professor Muntassir Mamun, Professor Harun-Ur-Rashid, Mr. Ali Wazed Zafar, Mr. IshfaqIlahi Choudhury, Ms. Rokeyakabir, Prof. Dr. Kamrul Hasan Khan and Professor Biswajit Chanda also shared their thoughtful insights pertaining to the topic of the event.
