Dhaka, February 28, 2026:
The Russian and Chinese Embassies in Bangladesh jointly organized a vibrant Sports Day on February 27, hosted at the Russian Embassy in Dhaka.
Diplomats and staff members from both missions took part in a range of sporting events, including volleyball, table tennis, badminton and football, enjoying a friendly and energetic atmosphere. Children also joined the celebrations by participating in a race, and all of them were awarded commemorative certificates.
According to the organizers, the joint sports competitions have become a valued annual tradition, strengthening camaraderie and cooperation between diplomats and employees of the two embassies.
This year’s event carries special significance as it marks the beginning of a series of activities planned to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the Treaty of Good-Neighborliness and Friendly Cooperation Between the Russian Federation and the People’s Republic of China. Signed on July 16, 2001, the treaty has served as a solid foundation for constructive collaboration and comprehensive partnership between Moscow and Beijing.
The two embassies expressed hope that such initiatives would continue to further deepen friendship and mutual cooperation in the years ahead.
