LSE Education Boosts Career Prospects

Dhaka, January 29, 2026 — Education rooted in the London School of Economics (LSE) plays a crucial role in accelerating the careers of young professionals by equipping them with global perspectives, analytical depth, and practical skills, speakers said at a seminar in Dhaka on Wednesday.

The seminar, hosted by Universal College Bangladesh (UCBD) at The Westin Dhaka, highlighted how the University of London–LSE programmes delivered in Bangladesh prepare students for competitive global careers through academic rigour and strong industry relevance.

Delivering a special address, Dr James Abdey, Associate Academic Director for University of London Programmes at the London School of Economics & Political Science, said that the programmes offered in Dhaka uphold the same academic standards, curriculum quality, and global recognition as those taught in London.

Nazeem A Choudhury, Deputy Managing Director of Prime Bank PLC, emphasized that early educational decisions significantly shape long-term career outcomes. He noted that LSE education fosters strong analytical and critical thinking skills, which are essential for navigating today’s complex and fast-evolving business environment.

Shehzad Munim, Independent Director of Linde Bangladesh Ltd and former Managing Director of BAT Bangladesh, said LSE graduates stand out for their ability to translate academic knowledge into real-world business solutions, combining global insight with practical decision-making.

Echoing similar views, Mohammad Morshed Amin, Country Manager of DHL Global Forwarding Bangladesh, said LSE-trained graduates demonstrate high career readiness, adaptability, and the ability to contribute effectively from the very start of their professional journeys.

The seminar also featured reflections from LSE alumni Saqeb Mahbub and Tasmiah Rahman, who shared how the programme’s academic discipline, assessment methods, and international exposure shaped their professional confidence and personal growth.

Earlier, UCBD Chief Operating Officer Kingshuk Gupta welcomed participants, while Prof Muhammad Ismail Hossain, Dean (Academics), outlined the academic framework of the programmes. Over 100 participants attended the event, engaging in discussions on education and career development.
