SS Report

Satkhira, December 24, 2025:

The Bangladesh NGOs Network for Radio and Communication (BNNRC), in collaboration with Agrogoti Sangstha, organized a capacity-building workshop in Satkhira to strengthen the role of local NGOs and civil society organizations (CSOs) in preventing technology-facilitated gender-based violence (TFGBV) and promoting inclusive digital development.

The workshop brought together 32 representatives from NGOs and CSOs across Satkhira district. Participants gained practical knowledge on identifying different forms of TFGBV, understanding its social impacts, and applying relevant laws and policies to support victims and prevent abuse. The session also highlighted the opportunities and challenges of Bangladesh’s digital development and the importance of responsible digital engagement.

The event was part of BNNRC’s project titled “Strengthening Resilience Against Technology-Facilitated Gender-Based Violence and Promoting Digital Development,” supported by the Civic Engagement Fund (CEF) and financed by Switzerland and Global Affairs Canada, with technical assistance from GFA Consulting Group.

Welcoming the participants, Abdus Sabur Biswas, Executive Director of Agrogoti Sangstha, discussed local challenges and emphasized coordinated action. BNNRC CEO AHM Bazlur Rahman explained the concept and impacts of TFGBV and stressed the vital role of CSOs in awareness-raising.

The Chief Guest, Mrs. Nazmun Nahar, Deputy Director of the Department of Women Affairs, Satkhira, underscored the need for family-level awareness and ethical digital behavior, calling on media and government institutions to work together to prevent digital violence.
